Karen Renee Robb's passion and purpose is beauty - creating it, inspiring it and seeing it in the people and world around her. With over 25 years of performing experience, she approaches every day as a new opportunity to dig deeper and express more fully the creative spirit within. Often mistaken for the voice of an angel, she is sure to bring joy to your heart and lift your spirit higher.


Karen Renee Robb believes that feelings of joy come from experiencing something beautiful. Creations of beauty can be many things: music, art, poetry, painting, drawing, dancing, observing a tree, garden or photograph, singing a song, playing an instrument, cooking a meal, planting a flower, or something as simple as a heartfelt hug or a genuine smile.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Karen Renee Robb is a natural born leader and performer with a love for creating and promoting beauty. She is a visionary who sees possibility and potential in every person she meets and in every project she takes on.

Karen’s supports her soul’s purpose through entertaining as an inspirational vocalist and through designing and promoting creations of beauty as a marketing professional.

After graduating from Michigan State University where she studied music and received a vocal performance scholarship, Karen began to use her musical talents to provide inspiration to others. She has entertained as a soloist for private parties, churches, weddings, memorial services and charity benefit concerts. She has performed The National Anthem at professional sporting events many times and was the female vocalist winner in the 1994 Oakland A's National Anthem contest. She has also taught private vocal lessons and musical theater classes in the San Francisco Bay Area where she lived after marrying photographer Kevin Peter Schlatt, who loves to create and capture beauty with his camera.

Thinking she wanted to be a fashion buyer, Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Materials and Logistics Management, with an emphasis in purchasing. She began her career with Apple Computer as a New Product Operations Specialist and progressed through other opportunities at Digidesign, Gibson Guitar and Griffin Technology where she has held positions as Director of Marketing Services, Media/Promotions Manager, and Marketing Product Launch Manager. Karen loves to bring clarity to chaos by organizing, prioritizing, planning and executing projects related to creations of beauty.

Karen Renee enjoys bringing her own vision to life while inspiring and teaching others to create beauty. She is currently traveling her souls journey through her personal 8 Be-Attitudes, which she was made aware of in later part of 2009. Beauty, Balance, Well-Being, Believe, Breathe, Blessing, Abundance, Butterfly. Through these transformational words, her life is being expressed through art, poetry, music and deep soul-level change. The 8-pointed star of Ishtar came forth in a meditation recently, that is serving to give deeper meaning to the journey she is on.

The name Renee means reborn and rebirth is exactly what she experienced when she and her husband moved to Nashville in 2000. Neither of them had a job secured when they arrived but they had a dream and the faith to back it up! Now settled in the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee area, Karen Renee openly speaks her truth in a way that benefits others.

Chakra Meditation

A 20 minute guided meditation to help balance and clear your Chakra Energies.

Chakras are not physical objects that can be seen, but they are an integral part of your life force keeping your whole mind, body and spirit working together.

They are located at different points throughout the physical body and are associated with particular parts of the body and specific emotions. These swirling vortexes of energy regulate the energy flow throughout your body. These centers open and shut depending on what you are feeling and thinking.

Every sense, feeling and experience is connected to a specific chakra. When you are stressed about something, the chakra itself can become unbalanced and may manifest as illness in your physical body. For your mind, emotions and physical body to be working together in total harmony and balance, the chakras should be clear and balanced.

Breathwork for Relaxation

Students and Clients frequently ask me - "What is the correct way to breathe?" ... There is no simple answer to this question as the optimal breathing pattern at any given moment depends on what is happening and what is the desired outcome.

This exercise is a beginning breath-work technique that will focus solely on relaxation with an emphasis on creating a calm and serene state of being. Try the following technique for cultivating breathing patterns that will enhance relaxation and well being.

ABDOMINAL:
  1. Lie on your back in a comfortable position ( with your knees raised or lowered), or sit in a chair with your legs uncrossed and your feet on the ground, or stand in front of a mirror.
  2. Place one hand on your abdomen and one hand on your chest.
  3. Breathe so that the hand on your abdomen rises first as you inhale and falls as you exhale.
  4. Repeat 5 -10 times.

COUNTING BREATHS:


  1. Using the abdominal breathing technique, breathe in through the nostrils slowly, and deeply filling your lungs with air.
  2. Exhale through your mouth slowly to a specific count (i.e. breathe in ..... breathe out, 1, breathe in ... breath out, 2, etc.)
  3. Count from 1 to 10 and 10 back down to 1. Try to do this at least 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. I find it is a wonderful practice to do upon awaking and just before bedtime every day.
  4. To help focus visualize the numbers after each breath, make them larger or smaller ... give them colors or textures. Don't worry if your mind wanders or you lose count, when you recognize it just return to the count.

The Coral Castle, a spiritual experience

Every once in a great while we find ourselves in a place where we are instantly touched with the sense that our life has changed, that we now know some elemental secret that we did not know before. Visiting the Coral Castle in Miami / Homestead Florida was such an experience for me.

The Coral Castle is the life's work of one man Mr. Ed Leedskalnin. Built out of blocks of solid coral weighing thousands of pounds and only hand made tools, the castle is an engineering marvel. Ed was a wisp of a man standing Five Feet tall and weighing 100 pounds ... prompting the question, How did he do it? There are many theories, however no person ever saw Ed working on the amazing castle. He was never seen carving the coral out of his quarry, nor was he ever seen moving the stones in place.

The Coral Castle is situated on the piece of land that is the triangular point of the Bermuda Triangle on land. The Castle is also oriented to 'true north' with a Polaris Telescope made of solid coral to view the North Star. All Sacred Mystical Places / Holy places on Earth are oriented to 'true north' ... the Pyramids in Egypt, Stonehenge, Mayan Temples, etc. The castle was built on a natural energy and spiritual vortex, on any given day you may encounter local Buddhist Monks sitting in a meditation circle around the center point of the castle.

The Faces & Consequences of Low Self-Esteem

The Three Faces of Low Self-Esteem


Most of us have an image of what low self-esteem looks like, but it is not always so easy to recognize. Here are three common faces that low self-esteem may wear:

The Impostor: acts happy and successful, but is really terrified of failure. Lives with the constant fear that she or he will be "found out." Needs continuous successes to maintain the mask of positive self-esteem, which may lead to problems with perfectionism, procrastination, competition, and burn-out.


The Rebel: acts like the opinions or good will of others - especially people who are important or powerful - don't matter. Lives with constant anger about not feeling "good enough." Continuously needs to prove that others' judgments and criticisms don't hurt, which may lead to problems like blaming others excessively, breaking rules or laws, or fighting authority.Photobucket


The Loser: acts helpless and unable to cope with the world and waits for someone to come to the rescue. Uses self-pity or indifference as a shield against fear of taking responsibility for changing his or her life. Looks constantly to others for guidance, which can lead to such problems as lacking assertiveness skills, under-achievement, and excessive reliance on others in relationships.

Consequences of Low Self-Esteem



Low self-esteem can have devastating consequences.

  • It can create anxiety, stress, loneliness and increased likelihood for depression.
  • It can cause problems with friendships and relationships.
  • It can seriously impair academic and job performance.
  • It can lead to underachievement and increased vulnerability to drug and alcohol abuse.
  • Worst of all, these negative consequences themselves reinforce the negative self-image and can take a person into a downward spiral of lower and lower self-esteem and increasingly non-productive or even actively self-destructive behavior.

In my daily practice as a healer and coach, it is evident that many of life challenges stem from the root issue of self esteem. I am writing this six part series to show how healthy self esteem can be the springboard to a healthy mind, body and spirit.
